From 21.04 to 22.04 was the Italian ship model tournament “GARA INTERNAZIONALE AMICHEVOLE (OPEN)” at Campogalliano (Modena) in classes: Eco Expert, Mono, Hydro and F.1 3.5 cc. Sixty competitors with eighty boats took part in the race. There were representatives of six countries: Italy, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Germany, Austria and Hungary. There were four of the “Kvalitet-21” pilots, racing for Bulgaria: Plamen Ivanov, Petar Trifonov, Ivan Ivanov and Evgeni Genov. The last two of them took third and fifth place in the race, showing great speed and high potential of the new eco boat „Cosmic-2” made by “Kvalitet-21”.
The organization of the competition was perfect. The organizers (“Federazione Italiana Navimodel”, Roberto Bigi) answered to all of the questions and problems of the competitors. There was a time for training, the box was usable and there was information on three languages during the race. The correct judgment and the precise schedule contributed to friendly atmosphere for the participants. There were many rewards, not only for the winners, from the sponsors of the tournament: „Graupner”, „Hydro RC Mania” ect.
For the first time in race conditions were demonstrated the boats BX-2000 (Mono1) and BX-3000 (Mono 2), made last year by “Kvalitet-21”. The boats are part of the catalog of „Graupner”. BX-2000 (Mono1) and BX-3000 (Mono 2) were controlled by Peter Schmidt („Graupner”). Those models showed good speed and stability in the turns.
With this year’s batteries, the new boats „Cosmic-1” and „Cosmic-2” (by “Kvalitet-21”) finally showed the expected speed, remarkable for the class Eco Expert. It’s pilots are preparing for the first race of this year’s Bulgarian national ship model championship.Pictures from the tournament in Campogalliano are available in the gallery.
